Dow - A Hangman Candlestick

Dow gave up 23 points at the close to form a 'Hangman' candlestick, a bearish reversal pattern that needs confirmation as shown in the example below.

Up-trend can still continue if the formation of hangman can not be confirmed.

Flying Stars Feng Shui 2011

The year of Metal Rabbit 2011 starts on 4th February, 2011 at 6.49 am Malaysian time. It marks the starting of the first day of spring, Li Chun 立春. The year of Rabbit will end on 4th February, 2012.

Flying stars are believed to be the most powerful elements of Feng Shui. Each year the yearly star stays in once sector for that whole year and then moves to another sector in the following year. The flying stars chart for 2011 is as shown below in the respective 9 sectors of a house.

It is good to activate the good sectors like wealth and romance (not for Apek) and it is advisable to keep the bad sector quiet, less noise and less movement.

Dow - Put on another 83 points

Dow just closed with another gain of 83 points, mini wave 9 is taking shape. The magnitude is about there. I am looking for 'Doji' in the next two days. Hopefully the magnitude of the next pullback can give some hints on the possible direction of Dow.

Referring to my post on 5th December 2010 my projection for Dow was 12,000 to 12,200 level by first week of January. At this moment, second week of January, Dow managed to reach only 11,750, the undertone is weaker than what I have expected. The duration of wave 5 at this moment is about the same as that of wave 1. Dow's movement in the next few days is crucial.

Dow - 3 possible scenarios from here

Dow closed the day with a 34 points gain at 11,671. Mini-wave 9 is being formed, can this be the end of the mega wave B ? Dow has reached a potential turning point here. Must monitor very closely for confirmation.

Scenario 1, it is possible that Dow is about to end its mega wave B.

Scenario 2, the mini-wave continues

Scenario 3, Dow continues with wave 6, 7, 8 and 9.

Bursa Malaysia

Looking at the top 17 most active counters on Bursa Malaysia, only 2 stocks are more than Rm 1.00. 12 of the stocks are 23 sens and below. The market is very speculative. I believe there is a lot of short-term traders in the market.

Dow - On course to complete major wave b

Refer to my previous post, assuming the Mega Wave 6 scenario, it is possible that Dow is at the tail end of wave 5 of major wave b. As shown below, it has completed its sub-wave vii. Sub-wave viii and ix of wave 5 will be completed soon. If major wave iii has only 5 waves, the current bear market rebound will end at sub-wave ix.



However, if major wave iii has more than 5 waves, Dow can take the following form with 9 waves .



Bursa Malaysia

Bursa Malaysia started 2011 with a bang, that can be the last surge of major wave b as shown in the following Industrial Index if major wave (III) has only 5 waves.


However, if major wave (III) has more than 5 waves, the Industrial Index would take the follow 9-wave form. Very similar to Dow, it has to be. When Dow plunges, the whole world plunges.



The last journey is usually difficult to predict, same as Dow, it can fall short with a failure wave (III), it can also drag on further for a little bit longer.

Foreign Fund in Bursa Malaysia

Information on the movement of foreign funds in Bursa Malaysia can be obtained from Bursa Malaysia's website on a monthly summary basis. The following charts were obtained from the said website.


In December 2010, 27.13% of the total value of Rm 35.7 billions traded was by foreign players.

In term of total volume traded, only 10.11% was due to foreign funds. Most of their counters were heavy weights.


In December, there was a net inflow of Rm 2.6 billions of foreign fund into Bursa Malaysia.


It is very glaring that local retail players are more interested in low-price stocks.



Foreign funds started to flow back into Bursa Malaysia since June 2010. Net inflow of foreign fund reached its highest value in September 2010. Since June 2010, cumulative net inflow of foreign fund is Rm 16.8 billion. More foreign funds started to move into Bursa Malaysia again in December 2010. The big jump in the Bursa Malaysia's indices in the first 4 days of 2011 is very likely due to the foreign funds buying the blue chips. As long as the Dow can hold, with possible more inflow of foreign funds and more participation from local player, Bursa Malaysia may go for an exponential rise in its indices. Is this the April 1993 scenario where KLCI moved from 650 to 1300 within 9 months? or is this the January 2008 scenario where after a one month surge the KLCI dropped from 1500 to 850 within 10 months? To me, it all depends on the Dow, how long can it hold.
