Two videos to be removed from the website

12 Malaysiakini staff were being questioned by officers from Multimedia Commission when they refused to remove two videos from their website. One of the videos is the 'Section 23 demonstration' and surprisingly the other one is the 'Home Minister's press conference'.

These two videos were deemed offensive and provocative. "These videos contain offensive contents with the intent to annoy any person, especially Indians". However it is interesting to read the comments posted to assess which group of people is actually annoyed by these videos. One group of peoples were annoyed by the videos but not the events but another group were annoyed by the events but not the videos. So the Indian belongs to which group?

It is also rather ridiculous to classify a video recording of the Home Minister's press conference as offensive and provocative if what the minister has said during the press conference were not considered as offensive and provocative.

These photos except the first one were taken by my children many many years ago. My memory is not really that bad.

FBMKLCI - Last surge has started

I still prefer to keep my opinion that the current up trend for KLCI is a bear market rebound or as termed by Elliott, a major wave B rebound. If this is a wave B as shown above, sub-wave v of wave 3 has started and is heading for 1300 to complete the B.

A bullish alternative wave count for KLCI is as shown below.

This wave count is assuming that the December 2008 low of around 850 is the end of the bear market, the run-up since the December low is a new cycle.

Dow - Monitor for breakout

The current rebound can be wave 3 or sub-wave iii or wave 5 as shown above. If the current up trend can break through the upper trend line with high volume, that will be good, please enjoy your ride towards 10,500. But four days ago Dow dropped with a volume of 8 billion, and last Friday Dow put on 96 points (1%) with a volume of only 4.7 billion, this is not a good sign. Watch out for the third case if Dow is unable to break the upper trend line. Under such circumstances I will definitely prefer to hold cash rather than stock. The thing to watch now is whether Dow can break the upper trend line with high volume.

Our 1-Malaysia

Please listen to what our Home Minister has said. He is from BN and he is a religious man, so he cannot be lying. "The organisers didn't even know somebody was going to bring the head of a cow". He cannot be lying right. No body was at fault so no arrest by the police. Issue settled.

How could one hold candles to protest against those holding cow head??? Some more without a permit, so 16 were arrested.

How could one talk to those that have been hurt so badly by the relocation of temple at this moment. No wonder they called him "Stupid".

Dow - Which Directions?

If Dow can rebound from here, this will be the beginning of sub-wave iii. As explained previously the characteristic of sub-wave iii may be able to indicate whether Dow is forming major wave B or it is forming a new bull cycle. Market sentiment may be down, low and boring at this moment but as it has happened in the past, all you need is a couple of days of run-up with high volume, many traders will become very bullish and will move into the market aggressively.

However, if sub-wave iii is unable to go above the upper trend line, the following bearish interpretation can be a possible option. In this option the bear market rebound has ended and Dow is going to move all the way to the March low of 6547 or lower. I give a low probability to this pessimistic option.

Another possibility is as shown below. The current down trend will continue for a longer time to bring Dow to below 9000 to form an expending A-B-C corrective wave (IV) before the next up trend wave (V) starts.
Whatever happens, I can be wrong, anybody can be wrong but Elliott wave theory can never be wrong. Dow will take one of the form as mentioned by the theory. It has to be that way for the stock market to exist. You need a buyer and a seller at any time whether it is bearish or bullish to complete a transaction.
