Malaysia 13th General Election - Check your ballot paper carefully

It is always in my mind that an acceptable ballot paper with a valid vote is as shown below.

I was really shocked to read from the China Press (7th April) that the following ballot papers are acceptable by the election commission as paper with a valid vote.

A tick, a small black dot, a small circle or an asterisk on the voting colume is acceptable.

A tick, a small black dot, a small circle or an asterisk on the name colume is also acceptable.

A tick, a small black dot, a small circle or an asterisk on the symbol colume is acceptable too.

They are all acceptable.

No wonder I have been receiving emails from friends advising me to check my ballot paper carefully on polling day. The followings have been widely circulated on internet.

A clean and marked ballot paper

No marking on counterfoil and split stamping

A valid vote and aspoilt vote

So, be careful, be very very careful.
Watch out for small dots

A final thing, any mark at the back of a ballot paper is also considered a spoilt ballot paper.
