 “Environmental contamination from the Lynas Malaysian plant is inevitable. Radiation, groundwater, atmospheric and river pollution are our key concerns. This refinery would be unlikely to be approved if it were proposed in Australia” National Toxics Network (NTN) said today.

NTN believes that such a plant located at a site like Gebeng, Kuantan, with 2 meters of rain a year, high water table, swampy site linking to Balok river and with 700,000 population nearby, will not be approved by the Australian Government. That is the difference between the Australian and the Malaysian Government.

Lynas has begun defamation proceedings

Thestar online has reported that Lynas has begun defamation proceedings in the High Court here against news portal Free Malaysia Today, over what it alleged as false and misleading reports published in the portal.

Lynas said it had also commenced defamation proceedings against a group known as 'Save Malaysia, Stop Lynas', its directors and some of its committee members.

Lynas executive chairman, Curtis said: "Lynas' operations will be safe and comply with the environmental, health and safety standards stipulated by the laws of Malaysia and audited by the International Atomic Energy Agency." "These laws reflect or exceed international standards."

We all know too well what is Malaysian Standard and how enforcement is being carried out in this country.

So far Lynas has failed to provide facts and figures to the public to show how safe the operation is going to be. For any report that Lynas thinks is false and misleading, just come up with facts and figures to prove that they are wrong, very simple right?

It appears that the master here is Lynas, keeping quite and let their 'Runners' do all the necessary thing to get the rare earth plant running on time. It is funny, stupid and illogical that the Lynas opponents have to prove to the Government that the Lynas waste is hazardous when the Government can approve a TOL basing on statements from Lynas that the waste is safe.

Lynas should be the one to prove to all Malaysian that the material from Australia and all the expected waste are safe. At the minimum, Lynas should make public a complete breakdown of all elements of their imported material and the anticipated waste.

Plantation - Crude Palm Oil - Soybeans

Bursa Malaysia Plantation Index managed to close higher than its January 2008's historical high of 8822 (closing price) on last Wednesday. It closed at 8823, 8844 and 8843 on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday respectively.

Whether this is going to be the end of the wave 5's run that started from 6707 level in September 2011? It has to depend on whether the prices of CPO can move higher.



Looking at the above CPO monthly chart, one will notice that the current CPO price of around 3366 is much lower than its February 2011 high of 3801 but the plantation index of 8843 is much higher than its February high of 8301, it is a divergence, unless the CPO price can move up strongly from here to break its 3801 level. Its possibility depends on the Soybeans price movement.


Soybeans price moved very close to its February 2011 and August 2011 high of 1455. It set an intraday high of 1450 on last Tuesday. It was unable to move higher on the following 3 trading days. If it fails to break the 1455 level and instead if it starts to move lower, one possible wave count is as shown above.

Once the Soybeans starts to move lower, I will expect the CPO to follow. Under this circumstances the Bursa Malaysia Plantation Index is likely to form a 'Double Top' reversal pattern and starts to come down very fast.

Can Soybeans break the 1455 level? Just wait and see.

Dow - Last sub-wave of wave 5

Dow dropped 549 points (4%) after 5 days of losses. If this is the sub-wave iv of wave 5 correction, it has reached its lower support line. Dow is likely to move towards the 14,164 level in the next few months to complete its wave 5, if there is no surprises from Europe.

Can AELB be trusted ?

In an affidavit to the Kuala Lumpur High court, Raja Aziz conceded that a Class E licence for importing raw materials and a Class G licence for the storage of residues had already been approved by the AELB on 30th January 2012, on top of the Class A temporary operating licence. Rakyat were deceived.

“How could a licence for the storage of residues be approved when Lynas’ proposed waste disposal plan is unsafe and a permanent waste disposal facility for its radioactive waste has not even been found?" Asked spokesperson of SMSL, Mr Tan Bun Teet.

Lynas's spokesman announced yesterday that the plant in Kuantan is operational within 3 weeks. All they need is the Temporary Operating Licence from AELB to start operation.

The only way is to vote them out

A cowboy named Bud was overseeing his herd in a remote mountainous pasture in Montana when suddenly a brand-new BMW advanced toward him out of a cloud of dust.

The driver, a young man in a Brioni suit, Gucci shoes, RayBan sunglasses and YSL tie, leaned out the window and asked the cowboy, "If I tell you exactly how many cows and calves you have in your herd, will you give me a calf?"

Bud looks at the man, who obviously is a yuppie, then looks at his peacefully grazing herd and calmly answers, "Sure, why not?"

The yuppie parks his car, whips out his Dell notebook computer, connects it to his Cingular RAZR V3 cell phone, and surfs to a NASA page on the Internet, where he calls up a GPS satellite to get an exact fix on his location which he then feeds to another NASA satellite that scans the area in an ultra-high-resolution photo.

The young man then opens the digital photo in Adobe Photoshop and exports it to an image processing facility in Hamburg, Germany ...

Within seconds, he receives an email on his Palm Pilot that the image has been processed and the data stored. He then accesses an MS-SQL database through an ODBC connected Excel spreadsheet with email on his Blackberry and, after a few minutes, receives a response.

Finally, he prints out a full-color, 150-page report on his hi-tech, miniaturized HP LaserJet printer, turns to the cowboy and says, "You have exactly 1,586 cows and calves."

"That's right. Well, I guess you can take one of my calves," says Bud.

He watches the young man select one of the animals and looks on with amusement as the young man stuffs it into the trunk of his car.

Then Bud says to the young man, "Hey, if I can tell you exactly what your business is, will you give me back my calf?"

The young man thinks about it for a second and then says, "Okay, why not?"

"You're a Congressman for the U.S. Government", says Bud.

"Wow! That's correct," says the yuppie, "but how did you guess that?"

"No guessing required." answered the cowboy. "You showed up here even though nobody called you; you want to get paid for an answer I already knew, to a question I never asked. You used millions of dollars worth of equipment trying to show me how much smarter than me you are; and you don't know a thing about how working people make a living - or about cows, for that matter. This is a herd of sheep.

Now give me back my DOG!
