Lantau Island Hong Kong

My daughter's email reminded me of the 'Tau Fu Fah' of Lantau Island and my trip there in July. That 'Tau Fu Fah' is really good.

From Hong Kong Island or Kowloon, from Central, Wan Chai or Tsim Sha Tsui, to go to Lantau Island, just jump into MRT and get out at Tung Chung station. Cable car station is within walking distance.

It was raining that day, luckily the rain was not heavy, the journey was comfortable with very good views of the South China Sea, the lush mountains and valleys. The 5.7 km journey took about 25 minutes.

We took a glass bottom cable car to have a better view of the topography.

The cable car ended at Ngong Ping Plateau, a tourism spot in Lantau Island.

This poster outside a souvenir shop was cute especially the little monk.

The 34 meters high Buddha is the main attraction. There are 268 steps to reach the top and the exhibition hall.

This view was taken from the platform of the Giant Buddha.

Tuck Kee

And the perfect-10 Stone Ground 'San Sui Tau Fu Fah' served with fine granular 'Che Tong', a special type of sugar
. This was the best Tau Fu Fah that I have ever taken, a different class of Tau Fu Fah altogether. The Tau Fu Fah from Lot 10 Hutong that was rated by me as one of the best in KL before my trip to Hong Kong, I took a bowl recently and yak, it was a touture to finish the bowl.

Po Lin Monastery

Nice vegetarian dishes that are available at the monastery

Due to the tight schedule we did not go to Cheung Sha Beach, Tai-O Fishing Village with houses on stilts similar to Kuala Selangor fishing villages.
