She was born in Kota Kinabalu in a Hakka Chinese family 42 years ago in 1968. Moved to Australia at an age of 8. A Law Graduate from the University of Adelaide, South Australia. Elected to the Senate for South Australia in 2001. Two days ago she was appointed as the new Finance Minister under the newly elected Gillard Labor Government.
This is what I think meritocracy should be. It has nothing to do with such thing called Social Contract or Race, it is about how good or how talented you are and what you can do for your country.
